Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua landed at Tala Town in Matungulu Sub County on Friday to inspect the ongoing development projects that have been initiated by his government. These key projects are aimed at making Tala town a top commercial hub in the region considering its close proximity to Nairobi.
During the visit, the county boss launched 400 garbage bins, 6 skip loaders, 2 modern compacting trucks and a street lighting truck. Mutua advised the town dwellers to avoid littering the town with garbage or used papers citing that cleanliness starts with the individual.
Other ongoing town projects are road tarmacking to ease motorcars flow within the town, installation of solar-powered street lights, construction of modern drainage system, construction of pave ways and concreting the bare ground to keep the town dust and mud-free at times of dry and rainy seasons respectively.
He added that his county government has already distributed over 1000 primary schools each with a capacity of 10,000 litres. The schools in areas hit hard by drought have been prioritized.
To the youths, the county chief praised the 40 polytechnics that are fully equipped and ready to admit students.He challenged the county youth to consider joining such institutions to get equipped with skills and knowledge in various sectors of economy.
