This afternoon at my office in Machakos, I received donations from African Coffee Roasters, Tononoka Steels Group, Kenya Private Sector Alliance, Kenya Healthcare Foundation and Missionary Sisters of Precious Blood-Machakos to augment my government’s efforts to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic that continues to affect our country
The items include oxygen cylinders, multipurpose liquid detergents, hand sanitizers, N95 facemasks, surgical gloves, surgical laminated gowns and disposable aprons.
I thank the organisations for their wonderful gesture and also call on them and other institutions to join us in helping our people now and the coming days.
This virus is spreading in the country at an alarming rate and as result we must adhere strictly to measures laid down by the government as well as World Health Organisation for us to be able to go back to life as we were used to.
We can combat this virus and flatten the curve, but we must first begin by disciplining ourselves by following regulations and restrictions on curfew timelines, hand washing, wearing facemasks and maintaining social distance.
Dr. Alfred N. Mutua, EGH

Maendeleo Chap Chap Party Leader.
