This afternoon, I had a wonderful time with the people of Machakos Town. I inspected ongoing road and health projects and I am happy to see great progress within the town.
From the markets, shops and people on the streets, the message from wananchi as I walked around town was one; Keep on going. This has given me more zest to continue working smart for the great people of Machakos.
I have listened to the request by traders at Kwa Mitumba and I have instructed that the wholesale market be reverted from Mavivye back to Machakos Town. My government remains committed to facilitate and not frustrate business in Machakos County.
I also had a candid discussion with the people of Machakos on the need for quality representation. The people of Kenya have been shortchanged for far too long and it is time for all of us to demand for more from our elected leaders.
Before trusting leaders with a higher office, let us review their performance at the lower office and make an informed decision on whether to re-elect them.
At the end of the day, the decision to elect leaders who have the heart to serve lies with us; the electorate. It is not about tribal affiliation, or a contest between the poor and the rich but about the people of Kenya who deserve the best representation to push Kenya forward and into the first world.
Inawezekana Na Itawezekana.
