On Thursday, 5th September, Machakos Governor, H.E Dr Alfred Mutua flagged off 5 Advanced Life Support Ambulances to serve Wananchi of Machakos in various level 4 hospitals and at Kyumvi junction to handle emergencies along Mombasa Road. These are in addition to the 70 ambulances that my government purchased in 2014 for every location in Machakos County.
I Governor Mutua also witnessed installed tracking system that allows the dispatch office to monitor ALL ambulances remotely.
This system monitors fuel consumption, speed, geolocation and also includes remote cameras that transmit directly to the dispatch office. It also generates reports that are very useful in decision making. This will help eliminate wastage and improve accountability from Emergency Services.
“I was pleased to hear good reviews from wananchi on the cleanliness of Mwala Level 4 Hospital but I have challenged my officers to ensure our public institutions are well maintained; A neat compound, painted buildings, toilets for the patients and other small things that do not necessarily cost a lot of money,” Mutua said
The Governor directed the Ministry of Roads to tarmac all roads leading to level 4 hospitals. This will greatly create a conducive environment for the people who we serve. Governor Mutua added, “Looking back and comparing our current situation to the period before devolution, I can confidently affirm that true gains are being made.”
