A Human Resource Management and Administration expert, Mr. Gutettah is based at the Office of the County Secretary as the functional deputy and substantively the Chief Officer for Administration and Coordination.
He holds an MBA degree in Human Resource Management and a BA degree in Sociology, among other qualifications. His other academic accolades are in Development Studies and Communication, all which make him an all-round public officer who easily fits in several professional contexts with ease. Between 2013 and 2017, he served as a Chief Officer at the Embu County Government covering Public Service & Administration, Trade and Tourism, and Investment and Industrialization. Previously he headed the Human Resource Management function in such international NGOs as Action Africa Help International, Mercy Corps, Summer Institute of Linguistics, Tearfund, World Vision, Feed the Children, Save the Children UK, and Across (South Sudan).
His first appointment after graduation was with the Teachers’ Service Commission as a Kiswahili teacher at Eastleigh High School in 1989. Later on he joined the Office of the President as a District Registrar of Persons before moving to Daystar University as an Assistant Registrar in 1991. Thereafter he worked for NGOs in South Sudan, Darfur, Somali, and DRC up to 2013.
Mr. Gutettah was born in Embu County in 1964 and currently lives in Athi River with his wife Wanjiku, five children (4 daughters and a son) and two grand-children (a boy and a girl).
His hobbies include motivational speaking, travelling and cycling. He sits in several Boards of Management of charitable organizations involved in protection and care of disadvantaged children and is a mentor and speaker on Christian leadership
